Oral-B Aquacare 6 Pro-Expert Water Flosser Review

Oral-B Aquacare 6 review header image.

Our Verdict

The Aquacare 6 Pro Expert ticks the basic boxes required for being a cordless water flosser.

However, whilst it does the job, it is far from the best option available today and I don’t believe really represents what Oral-B is capable of producing.

The number of modes is a bit misleading and the overall design and quality isn’t perfect.

It is expensive compared to the competition. Alternatives offer better value.

See our posts on the top rated cordless water flossers for more choice.

Pros

  • Cordless
  • Rechargeable
  • Different water streams

Cons

  • Build quality
  • Nozzle design and rotation
  • Button placement
  • Modes/intensity settings
  • No travel case
  • Chunky charging stand
  • Price (better value options exist)

Oral-B Aquacare 4 Water Flosser Review

Aquacare 4 review header image

Our Verdict

The Aquacare 4 just about does the job.

It is not the best example of a cordless water flosser.

I have used equivalent products from lesser-known brands that have delivered a better overall experience.

The build quality is questionable.

The design and button placement isn’t ideal.

The power of the water jet isn’t the most intense and the number of advertised modes is a bit misleading.

I expected better from a brand leader like Oral-B.

See my other recommendations below, or see our best cordless water flosser article.

Pros

  • Cordless

Cons

  • Build quality
  • Nozzle design and rotation

Waterpik Professional Whitening Water Flosser Review

Waterpik Professional Whitening Water Flosser Review 5

Our Verdict

An excellent water flosser it really is.

However, the ‘whitening’ element is a bit overhyped, will not work for all and is an expensive route to go if you want whiter teeth.

Opting for the Waterpik WP-600/662 represents better value for money.

Pros

  • Good sized water reservoir
  • 10 pressure settings
  • On/off switch on handle
  • Various tips included
  • Whitening tablets offer a nice taste to enhance experience
  • Relatively quiet

Cons

  • Whitening benefits are limited
  • Tablets are expensive
  • No 360 degree rotation of flossing tip
  • Different tips to other Waterpik models
  • Better value options exist (see other options)

Waterpik Cordless Advanced WP-560 Review

Waterpik Cordless Advanced WP-560 Review 6

Our Verdict

As cordless water flossers go, I don’t believe that I have seen or used one as good as this. It is the best in class.

It has a good sized tank, variable pressure settings, a nice design and charges quickly. The box contents is good too.

Disappointingly, the battery life isn’t great and the price is, well expensive.

Pros

  • Cleaning ability
  • Cordless
  • Rechargeable
  • Box contents

Cons

  • Size
  • Price

Waterpik Cordless Freedom Water Flosser Review

Waterpik Cordless Freedom Water Flosser Review 8

Our Verdict

You get all the fantastic health benefits of Waterpik in a cordless portable unit.  You are not tied to the wall and restricted by a hose.

The variable pressure settings are great as is the inclusion of the alternative nozzles and batteries (how rare to actually be supplied).

One of the biggest appeals of being cordless and portable is the thought that this might be travel friendly.  Whilst it comes with a travel plug and case and does not rely on mains power the bulky nature is disappointing.  However, it’s a battle you must contend with to have 30 seconds of run time from the tank.

Pros

  • Interchangeable tips
  • 2 pressure modes
  • Reasonable sized tank
  • Good battery life
  • Good box contents

Cons

  • Bulky
  • Feels a little cheap

This countertop unit offers fantastic performance, box contents, and features at a reasonable price.

Philips Sonicare AirFloss Review

Philips Sonicare Airfloss Review

Editor’s Note

There are several model numbers for the Sonicare AirFloss, which vary depending on colour and number of nozzles included. We outline the differences later on in the review and link to various buying options.

We’ve also looked at a range of water flosser options in our best water flosser article.

Our Verdict

The Sonicare AirFloss is a handheld device that contains a reservoir of water or mouthwash.  When activated the AirFloss fires a small burst of air mixed with the water or mouthwash into the user’s mouth in between the teeth.

For those that do not like flossing with string, or find a countertop water flosser too messy, the AirFloss is worth strong consideration; the whole process of using it is effortless.  This is then backed up by a good battery life.

Pros

  • Simple and easy to use
  • 2 weeks battery life

Cons

  • Physical size is a bit larger than you might expect
  • Reservoir size is small

Oral-B OxyJet Review

Oral-B OxyJet Review 11

Our Verdict

The OxyJet does what it is supposed to, it puts water out at an adjustable pressure to rinse away bacteria, plaque and food debris from in between the teeth and along the gumline.

Sadly though it has been beaten by the competition who offer more features, better quality and reliability for a lesser price.

Pros

  • Easier & less hassle than regular floss
  • Various pressure settings
  • Wall mountable

Cons

  • A large unit because of what it is.
  • Quite messy until you are well practised.
  • Quality is ok, but not brilliant

Waterpik Sonic-Fusion Review

Waterpik Sonic-Fusion Review

Editor’s Note

The images used in this review are of the USA variant of the Sonic-Fusion. The images show a black with copper coloured variant of the device, which is not currently available in the UK. Aside from the colour and plug all other elements are the same.

Our Verdict

As a concept idea, this is a great idea.

However, sadly the actual product fails to deliver.

You are best buying a separate water flosser and electric toothbrush rather than this combo option.

Pros

  • Stylish design
  • Toothbrush and water flosser
  • Built-in timer
  • 10 pressure settings

Cons

  • Battery life
  • Expensive (see other choices)
  • Combines two products into one
  • Not suitable for all — only 1 style tip
  • Water flosser is not portable

Waterpik vs Airfloss 27

When regular brushing cleans 60% of the tooth surfaces, it goes without saying that there is a need to use something to clean that remaining 40%.

Your options include floss or interdental brushes.  But, there are the powered options such as water flossers and air floss units.

Waterpik water flossers and Sonicare Airfloss are the best known examples, but which is better?

The short answer is Waterpik.

Clinically proven and with a bigger and more diverse range, they are the top choice.

However, Philips Airfloss is still beneficial and is the more convenient tool to use on a daily basis for most people.

Waterpik Ultra Water Flosser Review

Waterpik Ultra Water Flosser Review 28

Our Verdict

It is bulky and noise compared to regular string floss.

But, it is clinically proven to improve the health of your gums and can feel a lot less awkward and fiddly once you have mastered the technique.

The newer WP-600/662 is a better choice for most.

Pros

  • Reasonable tank size
  • Selection of nozzles included
  • 3 year warranty
  • 10 pressure settings

Cons

  • Noisy
