Quip Kids Toothbrush Review

Quip Kids Toothbrush Review 1

Our Verdict

Quip for kids is not the best toothbrush available today for children, in my opinion.

The likes of Sonicare and Oral-B do a better job at engaging the child through the brush design and additions such as the interactive apps.

It is still a good toothbrush for kids.

There are a lot of things to like though and there are certainly more positives than negatives.

With a few small alterations, it could challenge the bigger brands even more than it does currently.

Pros

  • Slim and lightweight
  • Grippy brush handle
  • 1 cleaning mode
  • Built-in timer
  • Travel case and wall mount included
  • American Dental Association approved

Cons

  • Not as interactive as other brushes
  • No battery status/feedback
  • Lacks education element
  • As a US based service it is more expensive for those in the UK
  • Potentially better options exist (see other choices)

Kolibree Ara Review

Kolibree Ara Review 2

Our Verdict

Good battery life, a nice design and a smartphone app that on the whole works well.

The Pirates game is fantastic for kids and I can completely see how it can be engaging for them, heck even I enjoyed it!

Sadly for the price there are a few weaknesses in the overall package which make this hard to justify as a better purchase than the competition.

Pros

  • 1 cleaning mode
  • Built-in timer
  • Design
  • Interactivity
  • 2 week battery life
  • Bluetooth connectivity for pairing to smartphone app for tracking

Cons

  • Box contents
  • No pressure sensor to alert you when brushing to hard
  • Better value options exist (see other choices)

Oral-B Junior Review

Oral-B Junior Review 3

Our Verdict

The colour of the handle is engaging and there is the essential timer and pacer built-in.

It performs well and there is not much to fault.

However, there are more engaging options for a young child.

Pros

  • Slim handle
  • 1 cleaning mode
  • Built-in timer

Cons

  • Aside from bold colours nothing else to appeal to children
  • Just 7 days battery life
  • Better options exist (see other choices)

Sonicare For Kids Connected (HX6322/04) Review

Sonicare For Kids Connected (HX6322/04) Review 4

Our Verdict

As close to perfect as you will get when it comes to an electric toothbrush for kids.

The only negatives are the price, which is a bit higher than most would like to pay, and the lack of travel case.

My top rated brush for kids.

Pros

  • Design — bold and grippy
  • Built-in timer
  • Automatic power off
  • Long battery life
  • Bluetooth connectivity to pair with smartphone app for education and logging cleans

Cons

  • rice — expensive but well worth it

Oral-B Stages Power Review

Oral-B Stages Power Review 5

Our Verdict

The design and inclusion of kids favourite TV and film characters makes brushing more fun.

Really good value this brush is, you won’t feel like you are wasting a whole load of money.

The battery life could be better, there could too be a battery status icon, but these are small niggles in the scheme of things.

Pros

  • 1 cleaning mode
  • Built-in timer
  • Design – engaging colours and grippy

Cons

  • Battery lasts just 5 days
  • Associated smartphone app does not rely on actual connection to toothbrush

Philips Sonicare For Kids (HX6311/17) Review

Philips Sonicare For Kids (HX6311/17) Review 6

Our Verdict

A well designed, strong performing electric toothbrush, many kids will love the stickers and colour of the brush handle.

This is a great toothbrush and there is little to fault.

However, the more premium Sonicare For kids Connected is likely worth the extra investment if you struggle to get your kids engaged with brushing.

Pros

  • Design — bold and grippy
  • Built-in timer
  • Automatic power off
  • Long battery life

Cons

  • Interactivity not as good as Sonicare for Kids Connected HX6322/04

Oral-B Junior Smart Review

Oral-B Junior Smart Review

Our Verdict

An excellent toothbrush for children aged 6+, if you can buy it for approximately £40.

It cleans really well, has a good battery life and feels good in the hand.

However, you may want to consider cheaper models such as the Pro 2 2500.

Pros

  • Slim handled toothbrush with good grip and interesting design
  • 2+ week battery life
  • Pressure sensor alerts you when brushing too hard
  • Bluetooth connectivity for pairing to smartphone app
  • Built-in timer and quadpacer

Cons

  • Additional cleaning modes unnecessary for target age group
  • Not easy to tell when cleaning mode is selected
  • No dedicated cleaning mode button
  • Price — there is a cheaper option

Oral-B Junior Smart Oral-B Junior Smart 2,308 Reviews £79.99 £39.99

In this review, I am testing and giving my feedback on the Oral-B Junior Smart electric toothbrush.

Not to be confused with the original Oral-B Junior. The original Junior brush available in purple or green and reviewed here is designed and performs differently, not to mention, it’s not smart.

I am writing this review from the perspective of a parent, as although your little one will no doubt have a say, one assumes it will be you who has the final decision!
