QUICK ACTION

Repair/replacement – Book your toothbrush in for repair online at https://oralb-uk.infotip-rts.com/

Contact Oral-B – Telephone 0800 731 1792 9am-5pm (Mon – Fri) or email here.

If you have a problem with your Oral-B electric toothbrush the first thing to do is run through some of the tips we offer in our Oral-B troubleshooting and common issues guide.

If the troubleshooting doesn’t help resolve the problem, your toothbrush will require additional troubleshooting and potentially repair.

So what is the process when it does? How long is the brush covered for?

You can find the answers to these questions and more below.

Key points

  • Guarantee commences from the date of purchase.
    • Buy the brush on 1st February 2020, the warranty will be valid until 21st January 2022 or January 2023 if you register the brush online.
  • Under the terms of the guarantee, Oral-B will for free of charge repair any defects or problems with the toothbrush that are as a result of a fault in the materials or workmanship in the construction and manufacture of the product.
    • If the brush stops working for no reason this would be repaired for free.
    • If the brush stopped working because it has been dropped from a height and damaged it this would not be covered.
  • The guarantee does not cover faults as a result of improper use.
  • If you try to repair or modify the brush the warranty will not be valid.
  • Wear and tear of brush heads are not covered under the warranty.
  • The warranty repair must be carried out by Oral-B/Braun Customer Service Centre.
  • The warranty will be voided if electric rechargeable handle damage is found to be attributed to the use of non-Oral-B replacement brush heads.

How can I get my Oral-B electric toothbrush serviced in the UK?

Oral-B electric toothbrushes are covered by a 2 year warranty as standard, but this is extended to 3 years if the electric toothbrush is registered here  https://www.oralb.co.uk/en-gb/create-profile before the end of the 2 year period.

If your Oral-B electric toothbrush develops a fault within two or three year period of purchasing, it will be repaired or replaced free of charge under the terms of your warranty.

For In Warranty Service: Visit https://oralb-uk.infotip-rts.com/ which is the online portal of Olympic, Braun/Oral-B’s Authorised Service & Repair Centre in the UK.

You will be guided through a step by step process on how to get your electric toothbrush serviced.

All products sent in for repair must be well packaged and sent in a box suitable to withstand normal freight and courier handling. It is recommended that your package is appropriately insured and shipped using a carrier who can provide tracking. Oral-B will cover all repair costs and return shipping to you.

Send My Brush For Repair

For Out of Warranty Service: You can still send your electric toothbrush to the service centre as they offer a free repair estimate service; based on which you may decide on the best course of action.

How long will the process take?

In both cases the Service & Repair Centre aims to process your returned product within 24 hours of receipt. Should they have any questions or if you are requesting an estimate they will be in touch, otherwise your electric toothbrush will be serviced, restored to full working order and returned to you.

How long is the Oral-B warranty?

The standard warranty is 2 years from the date of purchase.

There is the option of a free extended warranty, which will cover the brush for up to 3 years rather than 2, if the electric toothbrush is registered online before the end of the standard 2 year warranty period.

The guarantee commences from the date of purchase. Buy the brush on 1st February 2020, the warranty will be valid until 31st January 2022 or January 2023 if you register the brush online.

How do I register for the Oral-B extended warranty?

To gain an additional years warranty and extend the period from 2 to 3 years you must register your brush online.

To register your electric toothbrush visit: https://www.oralb.co.uk/en-gb/create-profile.

You will be asked to provide your personal details and details of your brush, so make sure you have your electric toothbrush handy when registering along with your proof of purchase (receipt).

Get My Free 1 Year Extended Warranty

My brush is not listed on the warranty registration page?

As new electric toothbrushes are launched, there can be a delay in the new brush being added to Oral-B’s online warranty registration page.

We wish this was not the case, but should this apply please allow a few weeks to pass and then attempt the process again to see if the registration pages have been updated. You can register for the third years warranty at any time within the standard 2 year warranty period.

If you brush has developed a fault and it is still not listed, head straight to https://oralb-uk.infotip-rts.com/ and book it in for repair.

If you are still having issues and you wish to seek a resolution sooner, speak to Oral-B’s customer relations team on 0800 731 1792 (UK customers).

What is covered in the Oral-B warranty?

The warranty starts on the day of purchase and runs for 2 years (unless extended online here to 3 years).

If your Oral-B product is defective during the warranty period, Braun (the parent company to Oral-B) will repair or replace it free of charge.

Examples of what the warranty will cover, but not limited to are:

  • The brush no longer charging or holding charge
  • The battery life lasting less than the advertised time
  • The brush no longer switching on or off
  • The brush intermittently stops working
  • The brush speeds up and slows down for no reason

The warranty does not cover cosmetic damage such as scratches, or damage caused by:

  • Normal wear and tear
  • Accident, misuse, dirt or water
  • The product being tampered with
  • Improper use
  • Repairs carried out by agents not authorised by Oral-B/Braun
  • Failure to take proper care of the product, including recharging
  • The product being altered or used for commercial purposes

Is the warranty and repair process free?

If the fault with your electric toothbrush falls under the terms of the warranty and is within its warranty period, Oral-B will, for free of charge, repair any defects or replace the toothbrush.

If the brush is outside of warranty, it can be sent to the service centre for a free, no obligation estimate.

Where do I need to send it?

Olympic Shaver Centre Ltd
Units 19-20 Calverton Business Park
Hoyle Road, Calverton
Nottingham
NG14 6QL

Will they collect the toothbrush?

No, it is your responsibility to return the brush to the address provided, using an appropriate shipping method.

Oral-B warranty: how it works and what it covers 3

How long will I be without a toothbrush?

As a general rule, the service centre aim to repair or replace the toothbrush within 24 hours of receipt.

The exact period of time you will be without an electric toothbrush will vary depending on the circumstances, time of year and shipping methods used.

Please take into consideration the postage time to and from the service centre.

For out of warranty claims, the process may take a little longer but is still dealt with swiftly.

Will they not just replace the toothbrush?

Whether Oral-B decides to repair or replace the toothbrush is dependent on the problem and their decision in each particular case, there is no guarantee that it will simply be swapped.

Do I need my receipt?

Retaining your receipt will be advantageous when it comes to booking your toothbrush in for any warranty repair, so it is worth keeping hold of.

However, it is not essential and often repairs will be carried out without providing this, but repairs required without proof of purchase are subject to inspection to confirm the age of the brush and whether it is within warranty.  The service centres decision is final unless you can provide evidence of the purchase date.

My electric toothbrush is outside of the warranty period can I get it repaired?

Yes.  You can send your brush in for repair outside of the 2 or 3 year warranty period.  You need to report the fault here https://oralb-uk.infotip-rts.com/ and follow the on-screen instructions.

Once with the service agent a a free repair estimate will be provided, usually within 24 hours and you can choose to proceed or not with this estimate.

How do I contact the service centre?

You can contact the authorised service centre in the UK on: 0115 965 7444

Who is the service centre?

The service of Braun/Oral-B products are completed by an allocated third party company for and on behalf of Braun.

I bought an Oral B electtic toothbrush fully expecting the two prong plug to work in a shaver point. The plug fits in tbe shaver point but it doesnt charge. The shop expects me to buy an adapter but nowhere on the box does it say adaptor needed. Am I within my rights to request a refund as the item is not fit for purpose as sold?

I am not a lawyer, but no, I don't think you can claim that it is not fit for purpose. Have you diagnosed what the problem is? Is the charger faulty or is it the socket? Do you have something else that can be connected to the shaver socket you have to see if it works? It is possible that the provided charging stand is faulty, but it's not that common. 2 pin to 3 pin adapters (so you can charge from a 3 pin socket) usually cost around £5 and can be purchased from good hardware stores.

I bought an Oral B Pro 2 on my dentist's recommendation and have been with them now for years. My husband's is 4 years old. But this one I bought from Boots in January 2020 has not been as good and now this past week it refuses to charge. The green light shows but as soon it is from the charger it's dead. I don't expect 18 months from an expensive toothbrush. Please can I return it. Thank you 7240786000 code on box 2 year warranty

Marilyn. I am sure Oral-B can resolve this for you as it would still be within its warranty period. We are not Oral-B nor affiliated with them. To get it repaired you will need to book your toothbrush in for repair online at http://www.braunservice.co.uk/report-a-fault/ Alternatively, you can contact Oral-B – Telephone 0800 731 1792 9am-5pm (Mon – Fri)

I have just returned my wife's electric toothbrush for repair under Service Reference PSO-XXXX. Unfortunatly, the website failed to understand that the (online) warranty was for 3 years rather than the usual 2 and so as far as it was concerned, the item was OUT of warranty. However, I sent it with a copy of the warranty cover and payment slip to ensure that it is repaired UNDER your warranty policy. My question is: I had to pay a postage charge of £3.10 to send it to the repair address. Am I entitled to a refund of this since my warranty is in date? Thank you, John Boyle

October 14, 2020

Hi John. Thanks for the comment. May I first clarify that here at Electric Teeth we are an independent company. We are not part of nor affiliated in any way to Oral-B. The warranty you are referring to is managed by them and not us. None the less, I believe the answer is that you will not be refunded the £3.10 for shipping the toothbrush to the repair address. Shipping fees to the repair centre are not normally covered by the warranty. Return shipment from the centre to yourself will be. To discuss with Oral-B it is best to give them a call on 0800 731 1792 (9am-5pm Mon – Fri)

I have been a vivid user of oral B toothbrushes- and each time I purchase a new one - meant to be better than the last! I’m interested in the new IQ but notice all the reviews date from people invited to trial them 🤔. Can I be added to the trial list please? I am passionate about teeth cleaning. Always has Phillips sonicare but changed to oral B many years ago. I think I’m on my 5th one which is genius. Which makes me ask why and how have you improved it again to IQ status?l

Hi Chrissie. Thanks for the comment, but we are not Oral-B. Electric Teeth are an independent company that have reviewed the new iO from Oral-B (not iQ). You can see our review here, which contains an explanation of the key ways in which it is different.

My hygienist has told me that my oral b pro2 should be replaced every 3 years or 18 months if used by 2 people This is the entire machine and not just the head. Can you please tell me if there is any reason for this. Thank you

JL
Jon Love - Chief tester
February 24, 2020

Hi Peter. I know of know real reason why this would be. I can only presume the 'logic' behind this would be that due to the extra demand on the handle (2 users) instead of the normal 1, that the battery life may be affected and the motor and internal parts may become more worn. Thus more likely to fail. Therefore to protect yourself from this, replace it. Sadly this seems very wasteful, unless there is a reason for doing so that I have yet to discover in the 5 years I have been writing about such products. It would be interesting to question your hygienist on why this would be. Brushes come with a 2 year warranty as standard, that can be extended to 3 when registered online. Therefore is anything did go wrong it should be covered anyhow. Oral-B could potentially argue that if used by 2 users instead of 1, it has been subject to more wear and is not covered, but this would be a very grey area of what is and what is not covered and I think there would be very strong argument from your point of view that it should work.

Did anyone find out the reason why people are getting the message 'We're sorry but we can't accept your messages or personal information, because you do not meet our eligibility requirements? It seems to be happening a lot in the comments above. It wouldn't be so bad if it gave a reason so you could correct whatever mistakes it thinks you have made. I just want to register for the 1 year Free Warranty, not the extended Warranty. There must be something wrong with Oral-B Register Web Site which is unusual if they want to sell extended warranty.

Ageta. Whilst this is very strange to be fully charged and then empty by the end of the day, perhaps it is worth leaving the brush in charge for 24 hours to see if this resolves the issue or it happens again. If it happens again then it would be worth sending in for inspection.

January 19, 2017

Hi Agata, Sorry to hear that the warranty has expired. I am no trained technician, tt is quite possibly the battery, but it could also be a loose or worn connection inside the brush that actually delivers the charge too the battery. These brushes are not designed to be opened and have parts replaced. It is possible but you need the right tools and parts Honestly, opting for a new brush might well be the answer here.

Often repairs will be carried out without this, but repairs required without proof of purchase/registration are subject to inspection to confirm the age of the brush and whether it is within warranty. The service centres decision is final unless you can provide evidence of the purchase date. Visit http://www.braunservice.co.uk/report-a-fault/ which is the online portal of Olympic, Braun/Oral-B’s Authorised Service & Repair Centre in the UK. We hope this helps.

Hi, I've always used these toothbrushes, I received this as a gift not even 2 years a go, I brush my teeth for 2 minutes twice a day, now, on a 2 day charge my brush only lasts 5 minutes? I have the box in the loft , but i am heavily pregnant and doubt i can squeeze into the loft hatch. any advice?

If you can get hold of the original proof of purchase from the person who gave you the gift, that would be helpful, but not essential. You can still send it in for repair. The only thing is that without the proof of purchase, it needs to be assessed. Visit http://www.braunservice.co.uk/report-a-fault/ which is the online portal of Olympic, Braun/Oral-B’s Authorised Service & Repair Centre in the UK. Hello I am on my third oral B toothbrush. As with the others, the battery life has become unbearable after around 18 months of use. With my previous two I have had them replaced under warranty. With this brush I applied for extended warranty, so I still have 18 months cover. If I send it off for assessment and it is replaced would the remaining warranty apply to the new brush?

November 15, 2016

Hi Michelle. Sorry to hear about the problems you have been having with the brush, it sounds like you are not having much luck, if this is the 3rd brush to fail for the same reason. However, yes, if repaired under warranty it will still be valid until the end of the 3 year period. In theory, whilst it should never happen, you could have a brush repaired every month over the 3 year warranty at no cost to you.

I have just found the receipt and I bought it on 24th Sept 2014, and it looks like I am 3 weeks over the warranty period ;(, which is dissapointing as I have been looking for the receipt for a month, and only to find it and I am just over the warranty period ;( Is there anything you can do please.

Hi I have a Oral B Braun Electric Toothbrush. Unfortunately, the charge barely lasts 2 uses now. Eg it will last two uses on a full charge of around 5 minutes each use. The toothbrush is meant to have a Lithium Ion Battery in and therefore, this isn't great. Would this be covered under warranty as the toothbrush is quite costly and is less then a year old. I have three years warranty with this item too.

I have brought about 5 of these braun oral b rotary tooth brushes in the last few years, all have packed up or dont hold a charge. these are for my wife my wifes current one has done the same not a year old adult use only by herself. I use an older model oral b sonic but with the traditional head, a bit more work moving it around my mouth. I'm happy had it for 3+ years no problems, have been told by oral b braun customer services ,they no longer produce this model is it because it goes on an on. so it'll be a panasonic for me when mine packs up , shame i've been an oral b braun customer for 36 years .

Hi Margarita, Thanks for the comment. I have just gone to register the same brush and I can see it is not yet showing on the list on the Oral-B registration page. This is disappointing. I personally am unable to get this added, but will feed this back to Oral-B. I am sure it is on their list of things to do. My recommendation would be to either hold fire and check back in a couple of weeks, or if you wish try contacting them on the warranty/support line 0800 783 7010 to see if they can register it.

If you have bought the brush 2nd had the you technically don't have a warranty. If you have bought it brand new from a company who sells products them rather than an individual will likely still have a warranty. You should be able to register online with Oral-B.

Hi I got a oral b 4000 after 3 months it fell off 1m surface did not work afterwards. My daughter now had princess oral b toothbrush 6 weeks and dropped it from her hand. She is 4 so max 70cm drop. Do these class as from height. Do you think warranty would cover them?

JL
Jon Love - Chief tester
July 9, 2016

These are very subjective. I and many others would like for them to be covered under warranty and would survive falls like this but the reality is there is no way of proving how far the brush fell from and protecting them from all impacts. Whilst you can ask, I suspect it will not be covered. I know personally I have dropped my brush before from heights over 1m onto tiles and it has survived.

Esther. O dear this does not sound good. It is difficult to say without assessing the brush. If there is a clear fault with it or the brush head then it is quite likely that it will be covered. Hi, I have had my Oral B Smart Series 6000 for nearly 4 years now so I'm aware it won't be under warranty. It has however stopped working - I have tried buying another charger but it seems its a fault with the toothbrush itself. How much will it cost to have it looked at and repaired? Thank you

JL
Jon Love - Chief tester
June 15, 2016

Hi Vicky, Thanks for commenting. The honest answer is we do not know the cost as it will depend on the fault. We would have thought that it would likely be considered uneconomical to repair it at this time given the price of the new brush against the cost of parts and labour. That said, it is worth calling Oral-B on 0800 783 7010 to get confirmation of this. Let us know how you get on.

Hi James. We are not Oral-B, but we can certainly try to help. You mention rebate and refund, both are different. What exactly you are trying to achieve? If it is returning for a refund you normally have to go back through the retailer you bought it from. There is a 30 day money back/test period offered by Oral-B, which is handled differently. Or do you have a brush that has stopped working during the warranty period?

Hi. I recently bought some new heads via Amazon and they appear to be genuine in the correct Oral B packaging etc, but after 2 weeks the first head seemed to open up slightly where the hole for the little Spring is. This resulted in me catching my lip two or three times where I received a slight cut .. I threw the first one away, thinking it may just be a bad one. I replaced it with another from the four pack and again it was fine for two or three weeks but then the same has happened again. Has anyone else mentioned this type of problem?

Yes, I had the same problem. I previous used the Phillips sonicare. My dentist recommended the Oral B 5000 to me. I purchase the toothbrush through his office. The first thing I noticed was the loss of charge after 2-3 days. I knew my sonicare was good for almost 2 weeks. However I just charged the oral b more often. After 3 months I placed on the charger and when it was "charged" I tried to use it and it would not work although all the lights were lit on the brush. I just got off the phone with CustomerCare and I have to mail the toothbrush to a service center in New York. I person find this unacceptable. Knowing what I know now I would have never purchased this toothbrush through a 3rd party. Had I purchased it at a bed bath and beyond I would have returned it the day it went dead to the store and walked away with a new brush. This had taught me a lesson. No matter how good the brush is supposed to be, this kind of customer service is unacceptable.

Hi Shekha. Sorry to hear that you are having both poor battery life and it is making a weird noise. The two may well be linked. If you are I would get it booked in for repair stating the two faults, the battery and the noise and they should both be repaired.

Hi. We are not Oral-B nor directly associated with them. I empathise with your position and do hope we can advise how to get a resolution. If both have failed within such a short space of time, the retailer you purchased them from has a level of responsibility, assuming they were sold as new products. How long ago did you actually purchase them? Where did you buy them from and why will they not replace or refund for you? Under the warranty conditions repair is usually the route to go. However in light of the circumstances speaking to Oral-B customer relations directly might be an option. Am I correct in thinking you are in Australia?
